ticket is pretty much mandatory.... not the cops fault, just doing his job but either way it does suck, trust me, i know

honestly unless you had it insured for a good amount it looks like it may be totaled

no one says he HAS to go through insurance. he is more than able to pay out of pocket.

Well i'm low on funds, but i'm definitely not totaling the car, it's too important to me! I'll probably just pull a small loan.

That sucks man, at least no one got hurt. The whole cop thing is bullshit, you already got your car fucked that's enough punishment

its not about punishment, its about placing blame at the scene of an accident to the driver at fault of the accident for insurance and other various reasons.... guy was just doing his job, not defending him but i know how it goes, my mom was in a pile up in my 05 equinox and was ticketed for following to close when really the guy pulled into my equinox...

the cop told her to go fight it but she just paid it for some stupid reason.......

UPDATE

Got most of the big stuff off the car:

And got it loaded into the trailer:

It's at the body shop and the frame should be straightened by the middle of next week. Now I just gotta get headlights, airbags, airbag sensors, a hood, and some other misc. stuff.

Haha traction control does almost nothing in the newer stangs, just a light comes on that tells you when your tires are slipping lol.

Good luck on the rebuild process :)

No help from insurance, mainly cuz I don't want there to be a claim on my record, I would be paying for it for years in increased insurance bills lol.

So far it's cost me:

Cobra front bumper - 220
Stock rear bumper - 15
Estimated bodyshop cost - ~500

And then I need fenders, headlights, airbags and sensors, and a hood!
