My garage is only 3 years old, it was already insulated, sheetrocked and had a popcorn ceiling but was starting to look like a mess

Changes made:
-epoxy floor
-painted side concrete
-painted wood trim
-repainted walls
-rebuilt and enclosed stairs with composite wood

Still to be done
-flourescent ceiling fixtures (total of 16 4' long tubes)
-additional insulation on garage doors
-Possibly building a bench next to the stairs with integrated shoe holder

Before:

After floor epoxy:

Concrete sides and trim painted

New stairs

Ton of prep went into the floor (probably overkill but can't be too safe) and a lot of painting time but now it should be good for a very long time

Cool man! I did the same thing a while back, although my floors were WAY worse. It took me forever to prep them.

To be honest prep wasnt too bad, had a couple small spots I had to patch near the door but thats it

Also my friend loaned me a floor buffer with a scour pad, put down gallons of degreaser and scrubbed it in with the buffer (much easier than using a hand brush)

I used a floor sander with 26 grit sandpaper for eight hours! LOL

I degreased, pressure washed, and acid-etched (a six-hour process) THREE TIMES.

I have a total of six 8' high-output overhead lamps. The HO bulbs (110W each) are much brighter than the normal ones. I highly recommend them. I got 'em at Home Depot.

My uncle is an architect/construction engineer. He built my bench (by hand with ALL hand tools no less) that you see in that picture. It's about as sturdy as a M1 Abrams and it's 3 meters long. :tongue3:

Also, I can't recommend those big shelves (on the left) from Costco enough. They're cheap and THEY RULE. I have a complete 8.8 axle and two transmissions on one of them. They are ridiculously strong and easy to assemble.

Paul.

The fixtures already have brand new bulbs in them (total of 16 40W tubes) so I will have those and two bare bulb fixtures left at the front of the garage (just in case temps are ever low enough where flouro's dont want to start)

That's pretty neat. I don't think I'd like that flooring, but the lift is cool. :)

damn, nice lift. is that tile flooring with grout between? i think itd be hard to roll around on that in a seat or creeper. i dont use a creeper though to work on the car, i can't stand them.
