Hello guys.

I've been working on some new T-shirts for our race team for a while, and wanted to share a little of the progress so far.

I've been working recently on vectorizing Dwayne's car, and it's going fairly well so far. This is the first time I have attempted vectorizing a car before, and I thought it looked pretty cool, so I thought I'd share, as I know some other guys on here do the vector art.

Anyway, here is the UN FINISHED car as it is right now. I'm beginning work on the front wheel. Don't mind the rear wheel/tire thing, as that whole are will be engulfed in "smoke" as this is a burnout picture, or at least it will be on the shirt. The car itself is a Calypso Green '93 Notch Super Street Outlaw Turbo car.

Let me know what you think so far

Looks really good so far man :thumb: :thumb:

I think I can have it done in the next day or two, I'll be sure to post the finished product. I think it'll look ok. I hope to be as good at it as the guys that do paint scheme mock-ups and the like.

Thanks AaRon :thumb:

How long would it take you to do one from start to finish?

This one's taking a long time, but I think once I get the hang of the order in which I vectorize it, and the layering and what not, I should be able to do it in under 6-8 hours total. This one is at about 12 so far - mostly because I'm really picky.

What software are you using? PS??

This is an actual vector image, so it was created in Illustrator. Photoshop, as we know, is a raster program. But I will be using PS for some of the final touch up.

It would most likely be a lot easier to do this sort of thing in PS alone, but a file created in Illustrator will print better, so that's the reasoning behind it. Plus Illustrator has a template mode, and I don't know if PS does.

Looks good. I always use photoshop for my vectors, they look like poop though. Your shading looks great! Can't wait to see it when you start adding in the small details

Not trying to be nit-picky, but Photoshop is a Raster program, so you can trace an image and have it be a vector-appearing-Raster-image, which there's nothing wrong with - it looks good, but PS doesn't operate in the Vector format.

Just to clarify.

And thank you very much for the compliment. The shading and gradients and such take FOREVER in Illustrator.

Yeah they are definitely time consuming.

Here's the final one I ended up going with:
