Buenas tardes.

i don't know if is a issue or not but my mustang slows down so aggressively when I let off the throttle above 3200 RPM It feels almost like a jake brake.

its my first stang and i don't have any clue if was a safety measure or not...

Definitely going to need to know if it's got an automatic or manual transmission. If it's an automatic, are you in Drive (not 2 or 1)?

The answer will be different depending on what is happening - for example if you are in Drive (shifter in D position) then letting off the gas pedal at any RPM should just overrun smoothly so a sudden drag like you described could mean a transmission problem or shift linkage problem.

If you are in 2 or 1 with an automatic then what you are experiencing is normal but why are you driving in the low gears? Those are not meant for everyday driving.

If it's a manual transmission then what you described is normal if you let off the gas and will be much more prominent in lower gears than higher gears - but what is not normal is driving that way. Usually if a driver with a manual transmission has the engine over 3000 rpm that's during acceleration and they will shift to a higher gear to maintain speed, or press in the clutch to coast down. Maybe look on youtube for some videos about how to drive a manual if you are new to it - and watch from more than one channel to see if the presenters teach it differently that way you're less likely to pick up a bad habit from a bad presenter if that happens to be the only one you see.

If the catalytic converter is actually clogged it would make very little power with the throttle on, it wouldn't change a lot when you take your foot off the throttle. A closed throttle means air isn't even getting into the engine so there's nothing to push through the catalytic converter no matter what rpm the engine is turning.

Having said that, these engines are decades old and 100% of them if the valve guide seals have not been replaced they are blown out, which means burning oil in the engine, soot on the oxygen sensors making them not work as well, soot in the catalytic converters leading to their failure. The valve guide seals themselves are cheap to buy and if you can do your own work they are not hard to replace.
