I need the motorcraft part numbers for the serpentine belt tensioner and the smaller pulley. Mine are starting to make noise and I wanna get new ones. If anyone can provide the numbers, that would be great. Hope everyone had a nice holiday by the way.

the tensioner pulley is availiable at any dealership for like 10 dollars. as far as the idler pulley you are wanting, pass on that. it runs nearly $400 because it comes with the p/s bracketry and all. thats the only way it comes. but i forget the company that makes billet ones it starts with a K do a search itll come up.

my tensioner pulley cost me about $180 or so, its still the aluminum one, and the idler pulley cost me like $30 or so from ford. where did you get the $400 price?

he said that wherever he looked it up you could not buy the pulley seperately, that you had to get the whole bracket.
it would make sense in my mind though that you would be able to buy just the pulley, seeing how it is only held on
by a large torx bit i believe.

wait, which pulley are we talking about? the idler pulley is the one held onto the timing cover by a single bolt going thru the middle of it, its above the tensioner pulley and to the lower left of the alternator. the tensioner pulley is the one you have to move in order to remove the belt. the idler pulley doesnt have any brackets or anything, its the tensioner pulley that does. that one (tensioner) cant be serviced alone, it has to come complete as an assembly, but its no where near $400 unless ford really jacked up the prices. when i bought mine about a year and a half ago (or maybe it was just a year ago) it cost me in the neighborhood of $170ish. the idler pulley cost me about $30 or so, cant remember the exact prices but i do know its no where near $400.

Pope - I would change just the tensioner pulley first without the tensioner. They rarely go bad and you might be able to save yourself some bucks by just swapping the pulley. :)

Paul.
