I just put in a new clutch and my flywheel was resurfaced. But I noticed there's some play in the clutch pedal. Is there a way to adjust the slack on the stock cable?

The stock cable is self adjusting. You probably need a new cable..is it the original one?

I like the stock cable myself, I replaced my 92 cable with another stock one, worked great.

I know with modulars and pushrods are prob the same, Ford Oe cables are THE BEST for a replacement.

I was thinking of going OEM, but I might get a MM unit instead, it's roughly the same price but comes with the quadrant and adjuster. I pulled the plastic on the firewall so I could pull the cable, the gears go in but I have to slam them in. Not only that but the car runs a bit funny, like it's lacking some umph. I hope it's just a clutch thing and not the fact that I switched to synthetic oil.

That would have nothing to do with the car lagging homey.
