I want to buy four nice stainless clamps for my Borla exhaust waiting to go on. Which kind do you think I should get? I have the first style on my Bassani now but I'm leaning towards the second ones since it seems like those would provide a better seal and hold. They're both around $10 a piece.

Do the ones you have now leak? If not, stick with what you know. If a one bolt band clamp can't seal what you have, you have a shitty fitting exhaust. A clamp is a clamp is a clamp.

I don't have any right now. The ones that came with the exhaust were the kind that actually dent the pipe down and I spent a lot of time getting it uncrimped, not to mention they were extremely rusty and bent and gross looking so I chucked them...

Pretty much says what he's doing...

My pypes xpipe came with the first style of clamp. I'm not a fan of em, then again i'm not a fan of pypes xpipe so that could be the problem. I'd personally get'r welded if ya can.

If not i've used regular U style clamps that seemed to clamp better then the aforementioned.

I just put a new catback on my car...and it came with the first clamps that you posted...and no matter how hard I tried to torque down the clamps, they wouldn't hold the pipes together. Bought some U clamps, and sealed it right up...

JB were you tightening them by hand? I did that with mine and one of them kept coming lose, then i put the impact on it and it didn't move after that lol. One thing i like about the second kind is that it's two bolts instead of one, also it would hold both pipes instead of just clamping one to the other. I don't want to use U clamps because it's made to be a slip fit to make removal easier.

My slp came with the first style clamp and i like them. they sealed up and hold the pipes great. i put a pair of the 2nd style clamps on my wife titan a few weeks ago and dont like them much. the banding is very thin, unlike the band on the first style.
