As we speak my my 95 GT has a new motor being dropped in. Heres the combo and i would like opinions on the setup, Stock 94 cobra block bored to .40 to make it a 308ci, cobra crank, crower rods, keith black pistons, gt40p heads (stock but cleaned up), 1.6 rockers, b-cam, trickflow trackheat upper and lower, 75mm tb, 24lb injectors, but stock fuel system. Motor will have zero miles on it and im just wondering if i will have drivability issues after the tune. I think it should be a fun streeet car though.

Congrats on the new setup. Wouldn't it be a 306 though? If tuned right you shouldn't have a lot of driveability issues

You know, i asked the same question. I guess since its .40 over and not .30, it makes it tecnically a 308. There are some sick videos on youtube of sn95's with a 308 and b-cam and its sounds nasty cool

There will be a difference, but dude, not that much, compared to if you would have put a decent set of heads on. With the bigger intake, throttle body and cam you would unleash gobs of hp and tq. I'm sure you already have exhaust, you just increased the combustion chamber, why not increase the flow and volume to it? So ya, the biggest restricion to hp you will have are the heads. Also I would at least throw a 190-lph pump and a new fuel filter in there just to be safe, that's the last thing you need to go out with a fresh rebuild. Good Luck

I think its gonna make a difference that you can definitely feel, but there is so much more potential for not a lot more money... A fuel system, ignition, and better HCI, you be making gobs of power.

you left a LOT on the table with those heads. it'll be fun, and make pretty good power, but if i'm building a new engine it'd have to have a good set of heads

Thanks you all for the great input. Just knowing that im off to a good start and that i have even more potential makes me sleep better at night. Hell anything is better than an old used and abused 5.0.

ivan12, .030 over is a 306, .040 is a 308

It's a solid setup, a proven combo and you'll have some fun with it.

I did a basic GT40 setup in my old fox and went 12.81 with it. Granted my heads were professionally ported etc..but you will have fun with it.
