New chip and tune, new belt, new SC seal, etc...need an x-pipe now

So after spending about 2 weeks in the shop, years of neglect have been corrected, with the exception of the exhaust system. I'm dealing with the California 6 cat special. But I do live in a smog angry state (Arizona). The shop says my high-heat issue is likely being caused by the front cats being cooked and creating too much back pressure (what idiot before me thought this was a good idea, I have no idea). Because the cats are losing their effectiveness, I don't want to get on the merry-go-round of getting straight pipes and swapping the stockers back in every 2 years.

There's one guy who has good things to say, and he's from California, so I'm encouraged.

I have a Pype's catted x and from having year of experience with BBK, the Pypes fits a lot better, blus it 3 parts and light, so getting it up in there and fitting it was a breeze. I also have SLP LM1's and with the BBK ofroad it sounded like a dump truck, now with the Pypes catted X it sounds like sex and I get compliments where ever I go. It actually mellowed out the sound of the SLP's ten fold and sounds more like Bassani now. Only drawback with pypes were the flanges that mate to the exhaust manifolds, they are kind of thin and if you put too much torque against them, they'll bend a little bit which mine did...but I still dont have any exhaust leaks.

Pypes isn't supposed to be bad at all. I have a Bassani and like it but would get a Dr Gas if looking now.
