New old truck...

A few months ago I bought me a 91 f150. Regular cab, shortbed, 302, m5od 5 speed, and I think its got something like 250k on the clock... Stock... Paid a thousand for it, drove it home with a pretty bad miss that I figured was an ignition issue and that a cap and rotor would cure...

Well, I found out that the rear pinion bearing was toast and the motor failed the compression test... So I fixed the rear and yanked out the 302... Turns out every push rod was bent I'm assuming from being over revved...

I replaced the 302 with a 351 small block... Mercruiser 351, he he... Stainless head gaskets, double roller timing setup, cam... I slapped a set of longtubes on it, welded up a y-pipe, and bolted a holley street avenger carb on top... By by EFI! Then I put some 33" goodyears duratracs and attached the hurst shifter I had laying around...

Here is how she looks meow...

Runs awesome, did great in 30" snow... Only got stuck once in a 4ft drift... lol... But I just cannot keep anything stock... This weekend I'm picking up an 87-91 f250... I'll be converting the front to leaf springs and swapping out the rear 8.8 for a 10.25 full floating axle... Currently looking for a dana 60 which shouldn't be hard to find...

I also need to replace the m5od... It can't handle the TQ... So I'll be dropping in either a NP235 or a T18... I'd like to find a dana20, but the BW1345 should be fine... oh yeah... and every great truck needs LOCKERS and a lift...

yuppers... whacha ya'll think? Say anything mean and I'll run over your mustang... lol

thats a pretty awesome truck I bet it's pretty quick too hah get some matching wheels on that truck!! hah

f*ck the the wheels... thats cosmetic sh*t... I like my trucks big mean and ugly... besides, with an inch thick coating of mud you won't be able to see the wheels...

And I couldn't believe how quick it is... pleasantly surprised... It'll get alot slower though... Its probably about 5000lbs now and the cast iron trans and monster axles are really gonna weigh it down... I'm also adding cross members and boxing in a few parts of the frame...

Sweet truck, I also have to agree about cosmetics. I haven't washed my truck in a month, and I've been going to baja, Mexico every weekend so it's covered in mud right now. My bushings are super squeaky and so is my bed since it's cut and pulled with no supports but I honestly don't care I'll just turn the radio up

That actually works, and big leaves work too, that's how we painted the duck boat

Just take tree branches, hold them up, spray paint around them, move on. I kept it original camo with brown, black, and army green. I also used shadow grass for the tall skinny blades of grass that you see in wetland camo.
I wanna see you do it, make sure you post up pics

As soon as the weather warms up I'll get started... I'm kinda busy with other stuff as it is...

I have 4 trucks to pull parts off. My dad's 87 f150 (302 EFI, T19, 4x4), 85 f150 (carb'd 302, NP435, 4x4), my new f250, and my buddy's 93 f150 (302, auto, 2wd)

My dad's truck's frame is rusted so bad it needs to be replaced. So I'm taking his motor, my trans, and his sheet metal and dropping it on the 85 rolling chassis and converting the motor to carb. Then I'll scrap the frame.

My truck is getting the 85's NP435 out of the 85.

The f250 is gonna get gutted for every good part to be placed in inventory then getting scrapped.

My buddy's 93 f150 is getting my father's t19, the old motor that was in my truck with new push rods, and getting converted to 4x4...

That's alot of work... And I still need to hunt down a d60 and snow plow for my truck...

From the little that i know about you, i can tell that you look right at home in that big slug. Nice transformation though, i love it when another ford is back on the roads (or trails)

At one time I had 3 broncos... lol... With ford trucks, the older the better. I wanted to find an f250 or f350 but they're hard to find at a good price in decent shape... Beefing up an f150 is very easy to do and back in the 80s ford sold more trucks then gmc and chevy combined... so there's plenty out there... And what looks like junk to most people often times has a d60 and a 10.25 in it... lol

If you buy an old ford pickup...

STAY AWAY FROM ANY AUTO TRANS... and of coarse find on with 4x4...

Aside form the c6, every trans ford used was crap until like 2000... And even the c6 isn't as strong and reliable as a ZF5, t18 or np435...

And check out fullsizebronco.com for TONS of info... They have archived a fuckin ford truck bible over there...
