I figured it'd be cool to see my car before, during, and after bodywork and paint. See a little transformation from multi-colored ugly POS, to nice looking, one toned white Stang. :thumbsup:

If you look under the GT, you can see how the line of the scoop isn't exactly straight from the PO's wonderul bondo job :angry7:

No stripes, no emblems, no black mirrors...

I know what I'm doing :p

Good. I could of sworn in your build thread you said you liked the stripes. Why no emblems? Just curious.

Looks good! I say you needed new paint even more than I did. Mine was faded, it didn't peel off though. Can't wait to see it come to life!

I was thinking about stripes a loonnnggg time ago, but decided against them. Althought mine look pretty good in the back, theres no real good way to do the front of the car. When it comes to cars, I like a minimalist, clean look. Shaving the emblems helps that out. I'm also thinking about having the rear letters filled, but I'm not sure yet. I shaved them on photoshop (see my sig) and I love that look.

Just talked to the guy at the bodyshop and she will officially be dropped off on the 29th. 12 days and counting. He's got a bunch of cars from the city (cop cars, road maintence, etc) that he;s working on now, and hes going to squeeze mine in then.

Woo. Its nice having it all set out instead of in the air.

Maaco = FAIL.

I'm having this guy do the bodywork and painting it for $800, which is a helluva deal. He has experience, a nice, newer shop, and I like the guy. If he does a good job on this, he'll also be painting and working on my 67. I've got some nice plans for its paint so I need a GOOD shop to do it. Hopefully, he's the one.

The visors are already off haha.

The glue isn't... but I'm lazy.

I'm pretty sure the $800 pricetag is because I went and got a quote from him towards the end of last year, and he was getting 0 and I mean 0 business because he had just opened up and he was desperate for work or something and he went off of that quote. I'd be happy to pay more, because I can tell he does a good job, but he said $800, so $800 it is. lol

The bumper had a sticker on it that said it was already primed with a flex agent... But last year when I talked to him, he was going to be doing it. The guy knows what he's doing and is really concerned with putting out a good image for himself, so I'm positive he'll do it right. There's a few other little details I want to make sure he does (the emblems, white mirrors, etc) but I'm pretty confident in the man. Time will tell, right?
