Mine always ran between 180 & 210. I guess I had this coming considering my fan broke but it's been running under 210 even with the fan dead so I let it go. I guess she got mad at me because she's been out of the garage the past few nights.

mine never jumps over 210. handz, you should check your tstat, and or water pump. two very easy fixes with your next coolant change and flush.

210 is absolutely normal on a normal OEM Mustang, and is nothing to worry about.

I have never been fond of the car running that hot. I would definitely be checking into something. I dont like it when my car gets close to 195 but in the dead heat with the A/C on the car never sees more than 190-192*

My setup is original water pump, Mishimoto Rad and Lightning 180* T-stat. Good Luck!!

I need a gauge. I think my car runs to cold. The needle rarely passes the N on normal.

Fo Sho?

Yes. In fact, warmer than that is not even really a big deal. My car regularly sees 220 in Phoenix on the freeway with the A/C on in 115 degree ambient air.

i installed my autometer water gauge but not the sending unit and the gauge reads 250* all day long... do i need to install the autometer sending unit for the gauge to read correctly? like is it calibrated for the gauge or what?

My car just SEEMS like its getting hot...way too hot because of Stop and Go LA traffic and summer heat. Even at night its running 210.

......I keep trying to figure out if the 180 T-Stat will lower the temps just a little....or a aluminum radiator

I would pay no attention to that gauge and go out and get an autometer

Honestly in my opinion I would think twice about getting an Aluminum Radiator and a 180 t-stat. It wouldnt cost you $250 at most probably to your hands on both of those and your car would thank you mucho mucho!!! (also get your fan temp tun on put down from 200 to 190, I learned that makes a difference..lol)

I went that route and havent looked back since. Dead stop traffic in houston this past couple of weeks has been the real test for new setup and it doesnt flinch one bite, actually I dont have a Autometer gauge yet but the stock gauge needle just touches the "R" and never goes past that.

YES! You must have the autometer sender for it to read properly.

It's fine. Phoenix heat is as bad and worse. The car will be just fine.

Paul.
