im wondering around about how my mustang is going to run with my new combo vs the old.. i had gt40p's with the exhaust side cleaned up a little and i polished the ports. cobra upper and lower and a f cam. with the stock 3:08 rear gears. now i'm going to have a stock explorer long block( gt40p's explorer upper and lower with the super small stock truck type cam) but with 3:73's. both combo's have whats pretty much listed in my sig... k&n cone drop in,bbk LT's bassani o/r x and dumped straight pipe to the rear axle (sounds amazing.. good decent idle but WOW when you get on it) msd coil cap and wires... thats about it..i have heard a lot about how much of a difference gears will make.. and the combo is very similar with the exception being the cam and the little work done to the heads... will it atleast run as good.. as it was?.. will the gears help to overcome the cam.. and will it be torque.....ey?just a few words of advice would be helpful. i'm hoping to pull the blown engine this weekend and get started on getting the explorerengine put together and at least close to being ready to be dropped in... thanks guys..

Theres no way to really say if it will run better or not. Its a flip a coin question, it might and it might not. Every mod combination reacts differently

it should not run better. that fcam and the cleaned ports is probably gonna be the difference. there is something about those expo motors that dont work with the 5oh's. not sure if its the cam or the waterpump but something doesnt work call ford tech up to make sure 1800 ford- 788

i have the stock engine still.. the water pump i think is the same one as the sn95's. but if not i have my old one. but MAYBE good news!!! i took my engine out today pulled the oil pan off. my crank is broken in half (which i already figured out). but the block looks like it might still be good. no visual cracks, chunks or holes lol. as soon as i can i will post up some pics. the way the crank broke.. is insane!!!.. i might be able to drop in a crank and go. im so happy if it works.. i will be able to run my ported gt40p's, f cam andcobra upper and lower AND 3:73's.. should run pretty respectable me thinks!!!! i have never gotten to drive ageared stang.. and never really got to drive my car running right either. man i hope with all the crap i have been threw, that this works out!!!
