Other than the engine itself, what else does the ECU control? (1994 GT)

For reasons not germane to this thread I am starting to look at going to a newer ECU for my 1994 5.0 M/T, like Holley or MSPNP or PiMPx but I'm curious what loose ends need to be addressed, what else does the ECU operate?

To be clear I'm curious about everything, including parts that you might not think are important they might be important to me or at least I want to know what they are.

Thanks

It indirectly controls radiator fan, A/C compressor, and the fuel pump, all through the CCRM module in the passenger side fenderwell. Not sure what else.

The A/C part is good to know, I will have to look into that more deeply because there presumably is some safety built in there too (high and low pressure shutoff, thermal shutoff, WOT shutoff, etc) and I would not want to give that up.

High and low pressure shut off is all controlled mechanically through the switches. The computer only sends signal to the ccrm for wot shut off.

I would look in to it a little bit, but I believe the mspnp controls everything like stock. Don’t hold me to that though, I’m not 100% certain on that.

Here is a full pinout of a '94-'95 EEC. I found it on another website, so you can ignore the yellow boxes. I also ran my '95 on MegaSquirt for several years, so if there's anything specific you want to know feel free to ask.

I ended up ordering a PiMPxs with 2 wideband o2 sensors, after confirming with them I will be able to set up 2 speed fan control and evap/purge functions (I hate having a car that smells like an old lawn mower) - so that should be showing up soon. I still have a little more work to do on my V6 so it's daily driveable while I tear down the GT again, I have a set of aluminum SVO heads to install & FRPP headers before I start tuning.

This just showed up (well, more than just this but here are the guts) - following the instructions I installed all the jumpers last night.

Doubt I'll install it this weekend but maybe early next month I can get to it.

I have one of these to install on my 94 Gt. It sounds like you'll get started before me as I'm planning to do a cam change first when the weather warms up a bit.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Did you ever get around to installing this? And what options did you select and what is your car setup?
I’m ready to pull the trigger on an ecu for my build.
