Hey guys, I just got the car painted like three months ago and the paint is starting to chip on the bumper where the fog lights go and around the corners of the opening in the middle as well. Is there a good way to stop this from happening because it really bothers me since the paint is almost brand new. Thanks

Wax? I had a hood repainted last year, my painter said not to wax it for at least 6 months, or there was a chance the wax could take the paint off. Apparently it needed the time to cure or something... :dontknow:

Well, see i wax it once a week with a non abrasive wax and it still is chipping off. It may be the pre-primer bumper?

I hear it is pretty common for the primer that comes on the bumper to chip off. i guess that is what's happening. I can't get a color match duplicolor to fix it around here either. I'm probably going to have to take it back to the painter after the bowl game... Bah!

the only reason the paint would chip off is if the shop didn't use an adhesion promotor and a flex agent. if it don't chip off when new, it shouldn't chip off when repainted. unless you've bumped it or something, that would be different.

If its already chipping there aint no saving it. You need to get that panel repainted.
