I am thinking of painting my engine bay while my car is down! i am wanting to do it the same color as the car. Has anyone done this that could give me some tips or info on where i can find the paint?

I would first wipe everything down with wax and grease remover, sand it with 800 grit sand paper or a red scuff pad as far as buying the paint find someone near you that sells paint I would put ppg or dupont on it thats just my opinion. After you get it covered with good paint then I would put 2 good coats of clear on it and this job will be done.

what color? if its something simple, like black, id get ppg; but if its something complex, like laser red, id go to a ford dealer and get it. :)

also: dont forget the primer. Ive never painted an engine bay, but when we painted my fender, we forgot to primer, and it orange peeled. :-(

primer is always a must IMO
about the coloring, i would also say head to a dealer and see if you can order some legitimate factory paint.

otherwise, i have had good experience with duplicolor quite regularly

duder....just go black. It looks SICK and you dont have to worry about matching paint codes or color or anything. Black makes it way easy...trust me
