This thread sent me chills since I'm on the same project with my car.
Here is my steps
1.) Meguiars Clay baring
2.) Meguiars Scratch X cleaner
3.) Meguiars Show Room Shine Polish #7
4.) Meguiars NXT Tech Wax

Took me 3 hours to clay bar, really got down and dirty.
3 hours to apply scratch X, tons of scratchs
and I only finished my front bumber, hood, and fenders with polish. Then I had to drive it because my daily drivers fuel regulator broke. So I can't decide tomorrow if I want to start from scratch (claying again) or just wash it, polish it and Wax it.

PS I don't have a buffer, debating on buying one.

Get the Poorboys EX sealer/Wax. it looks awsome, and will keep up the sex for about 4 months.
none of them last 6 months unless your car never goes out into the weather.
spread it on with a pad, on low speed, like 1000 rpm. let it sit for 30 minutes and wipe off with a micro.
after your jaw comes back up. Take some more pix O0

Juztang is awsome to order stuff from. he'll give you a discount too. I ordered some stuff 2 days ago.
PM him, and he should get right back.
You should get some micro's from him too. the waffle weaves are better at absorbing water than the regular, polishing kind.

Oh, and I had a cheap buffer like the one you described before I got my PC. they work good too.
I actually burned it up, but for 20-30 bucks, it works great.

Oh how I can't wait to claybar, wash, and wax my car again. Gotta wait until my court case is over with cause it's still technically evidence even though I've taken pics of the damage.

Here's a hint for everyone. If you're leaving a car show wait until everyone leaves before you decide to leave. Otherwise, you might have some a-hole 18y.o. kid powerbrake their pick-up truck 5 feet in front of you in a pile of tiny rocks and sand....rock chip heaven on my front bumper, windshield, and entire passenger side . I get his insurance info, make a claim that night, and then Geico (his insurance) tells me they aren't going to pay for it because the kid denies doing it at all to them. Now, I've pressed criminal destruction of property charges on this kid. I have to meet with the state's attorney and county prosecutor tomorrow to submit my pics and give information about my case to them. This kid did absolutely the wrong thing by messing with an ex-cop :police: ...now he's gonna have to pay for my car to get painted, court costs, up to a $2500 fine and up to 3 years in prison for the charge. Granted, he'll probably never see a single day in jail, but he'll always have an arrest on his record once the warrant gets served and I'm sure that there is some probation that is going to be involved. He'll realize that he should have just paid the damn deductible and sent me on my way instead of lying.

Did I mention that my car is like my only child and it pisses me off when people mess with it? I'm sure many of you are the same way. I appologize for hi-jacking the thread.
