I'm approaching the crossroads we all eventually reach with my 98 GT daily driver : Sell or modify further. I've been weighing my options and would like opinions from my forum brothers as to what they'd do in my shoes.

I've compiled a short pro/con list.

Pro's:

1) She's paid for!!

2) It has curves in all the right places

3) It's fun to drive, even for a slow turd!

4) Parts interchange with my '95 GT

5) Insurance is cheap

6) Can easily swap in a better drivetrain..

7) It's white!

Con's:

1) power locks stopped working

2) suspect coolant loss into engine

3) lower radiator support tweaked

4) 145k miles and rear end needs to be rebuilt

5) Needs seats

6) Typical crystal white paint issues

7) Door and trunk weatherstripping replaced

Honestly, I think you should keep it. The con list is all very easy to solve, and once you put some time in on the mod motor you will realize just how easy they really are. Then the biggest pro, it's paid for! I'll vote for keep it.

I voted Terminator Swap. A little pricey but who doesnt love 500 hp to the tires from a simple pulley/tune. My next vote would be 4v/Boosted 4v.

If you were to sell would you get something "more practical" as a daily?

If you answer yes - sell
If you answer no - keep, fix the 2v and keep the car simple.

Find an 03/04 explorer 4.6 2V engine and swap it in. Throw in some semi mild cams like CMS stage 1 or 2 or Comp262AH's. Decent street friendly suspension and brakes.

When my car was just PI swapped with cams it was my favorite setup and when I enjoyed my car the most. I had a Steeda suspension kit and Bullitt brakes all around. It was a perfect street cruiser that was making @275rwhp (auto) and handled/stopped as good as any street driven car needs to.

You can do this to your 98 with not a ton of money and get another 100k out of it.

It's paid for was the best part of your list.

We had a guy here doing it back in the day as a project with his brother. It was going good but something happened to his brother :(

It's been done a few times. Really awesome if you ask me.

I have access to all the viper parts that I would ever need but I'd need another car.

Maybe in the future.......

I voted keep it and do the Term swap. But that's only because I didn't see the option for the Coyote swap or 5.2 boxer swap.

If I *do* sell it, it'll be to buy a 96-98 Cobra

4V SN's are one of my favorite cars ever! I think they are perfect as is and would make a perfect daily in a warm climate. Already looks good, upgraded brakes and plenty of potential with the Teksid 4V platform.
Honestly if I didn't have so much money in 2V parts this is what I would do.
