Alright, I currently own a '96 GT which I picked up for $2,400.
It's not perfect, but its a second car and has been rather fun so far.

Car currently needs shocks (riding on springs) and an exhaust (holes in each muffler), not to mention it runs rich (mmm the smell of noxious gas). Oh yeah, A/C is toast.

Paint is pealing in various spots, it has an after market sunroof, missing a truck "damper" (won't stay open), cracked bumper, cracked and fogged head lights, busted passenger mirror, and a dent in the passenger door and right in front of the "rear brake air-duct".

I own a set of 16s (as shown) and 2001 17's for the Car.

Isn't she wonderful? (God I hate the white :santa_undecided:)

Ok here is the plan!

I'd like the car to see more track use and swapping the NPI Intake nearly killed me so PI swap and Cams are out. I may feel gritty enough to swap a full PI engine or even a DOHC.. but that seems cost prohibitive.

Exhaust Manifolds (short)
Catted Mid-Pipe
Cat-Back

MM Steering Rack Bushings (Aluminum)
Rear Seat Delete
CAI (most likely K&N)

Suspension I'm undecided.
I could piece meal it using sub-frames, Ford Suspension Package (Mach1/Bullit) and some Caster/Camber Plates,

or I could just go with the Maximum Motorsports Sport Box for $1,500 ( :santa_undecided:) although the Panhard Bar install looks rather difficult.

Then
Fiber Glass or Carbon Fiber Hood (Cobra R style maybe)
Carbon Fiber Trunk Lid

Rear Gears
Aluminum Drive Shaft

IDK, maybe a MM Steering Shaft as well...

Lastly some Yonaka Seats

Am I on the right path?

Goals, reduce some of the numbness the car has, improve steering response, see some power and throttle response increases. Dial out the under steer, increase over steer..

The MM box will definately tighten the car up and improve it's responsiveness.

As for all the engine bolt ons, don't bother. You're pissing your money away, either get a PI and some aftermarket cams and swap the whole motor, or leave it stock (since you said you're not up to swapping part's.) A stock NPI just doesn't move enough air to require header's, CAI's, or anything else.

Now where are you locally? You may have a local club or whatever that could help you out with the mechanicals.

Out of SB Indiana.

Standard intake and exhaust upgrades won't yield anything worth while on a NPI?

As for the PI swap, like I said, I'd be more comfortable swapping a completed engine assembly then tearing my engine apart. Just seems like a lot less to go wrong, ya know?

A mid pipe will, the rest is is cosmetic.

Yeah, that's why I suggested a complete PI engine, you can swap some aftermarket cams into it while it's on the stand, that should be pretty straightforward for you, and help you get more comfortable with it internally. Look in the regional section to see if anyone is near you, I think FUK_N_JUNK is, but not really sure on that.

wow you got a project on your hands don't you ?

Sooooo what is wrong with a WHITE MUSTANG ??? HMMMM lol

Naw, First things first man, get that car fixed up. New bumpers and fix the dents. NEW paint.

For shox's and struts i would recommend KYB ... i got the gr'2's and they are nice. I would make the car look nice and run decent for the time being. Then do work on it. That way you have a decent car even if it isn't fast.

Exaust. I got the mac o/r prochamber with the mac cat back. Love it and it sounds beasty.

Suspention. I would go with a tubular k, tubular a arms, coil overs and then some good springs and shocks in the back. Main thing though, sub frames... major mod. Upper and lower control arms. Sticky big back tires

Body. I would go on and put a nice looking body kit on it while i was at it...maybe a saleen or saleen nock off or a cobra kit. I kinda like the xenon kit by steeda too. I got the the H.O. Fibertrends 95 Cobra R hood also and it is a knock out piece. Wonderful hood. Weighs about 4 pounds lol.

Motor... I'll recommend what i'm doing lol. 5.4L 2v Motor swap. Intake adapter plates so you can run the 4.6 Pi intake. Custom ground cams, long tubes, good clutch if manual, or 3200 stall if auto and 3.55 gears. That is a monster. Then the small little things that you mod will give you decent power gains... like the t/b and plenum that gives the 4.6 like 2 hp will give the 5.4 like 15 hp. That makes it worth wild.

Sorry for the ramblings just like the idea of a project car. Ya got a nice base to start at. Good luck and if you need anything pm me. I'll try to help you out with what knowledge i have. Peace

PS.
Does anyone have links to those seats or that mm stearing shaft of box or whatever? i'm interested. Nice seats too.

I have to agree with that.

+2 on the sport box, from MM, and the panhard is excellent, and not too hard to install.

are wheels on your list, they will really change the look of the car, especially once you lower it.

and absloutely yes do gears!
if your staying NPI, 410's or 430's

People with white Mustang's are 97% more likely to write a legitimate "Dear Penthouse" letter as well ;)
