Ok I recently purchase a explorer intake manifold . So I put it on like a week ago first it sound like my car had bigger cams So I figured my timing was off purchased a timing light . I set my timing up I don't know if u have to set it back to TDC for just a manifold so the cars idle got better but still didn't sound like stock cams. I went out for a test drive coolant poured out of the water outlet/thermostat housing so I shut the car off before it over heated, so I tried to give the wrench some more muscle n cracked the housing. So I got another one thanks napa So I put it on the next day, So checked the timing again, and poured a little bit of coolant n the water outlet small leak I guess I didn't let the sealant dry enough.

So I wanted to see if it overheated again so I let it run for a bit everything seemed ok just that little leak so I feel very thing is ok I give it a bit of gas a block away for my house n bang something break so I stop my car turn it off tried start it again something was bangin around n the motor. the motor starts up but it knock so I thought it might of drop a valve pulled the heads off valves looks ok looked n the distributor housing looks like some of the block broke off, but it doesn't feel that way when I pulled of the front cover timing chain basically the motor is pull off cam is still in I don't know what to do I can't find nothin I have nothin to pulled the engine out of the car to check bottom end I bout to just put it back together if it knock somemore I don't know what to do.

If enough water or coolant got into a cylinder you could have hydrolocked it and broke a rod/cap/crank. A guy at my work hydrolocked a Navigator motor and blew the block out in two places, complete with chunks of it on the floor.

sounds like a broken rod. we just had a motor in the shop and water got into the cylinder. broke the rod and punched a hole in the block(aluminum block 4 cylinder). drain the oil and check for metal debris. good luck.

damn man... your sentences were running ALL together... LOL... sounds like some shitty luck. hope it works out for you. I will say though. i don't think the new Intake had anything to do with it... when you adjusted the timing, though... you never know :dunno:
