Also, you don't have to disconnect the clutch cable from the trans. Just look un der the dash and unhook it up there. Much faster and easier.

id undo it from the tranny any day before the damned quadrant. i hate that hell-hole of the car. lol. but i have an adjustable bale, so its simple for me...

You had to remove your a/c lines to get your ps cam cover off? On a 4v?

Or were you removing themfor a different project?

nah, you mentioned the fuel lines, and it just came to mind on how to remove fuel lines, how to remove the a/c lines as well.

i had to un-do mine to pull my engine.

FWIW, I did it without removing the clutch cable or loosening the brake booster. There were, however, a lot of 4-letter words involved.

FYI there was a guy on SVTP selling the SVT cam cover badges, might check over there.
Also, why red?

What cam cover badges? The sig plate?

I have a blank duplicate sitting right next to me.

hey guys i was just looking under the hood, and i was wondering, how the HELL do you get to these two bolts?
just use an extension? it just seems like a funny angle. im sure you should torque these bolts down right?, how do you fit the TQ wrench in there?

from the pics, it seems so direct but when i look at it, it seems near impossible. is it just me?

shallow socket > universal joint > 6" extension > ratchet.

thats my best suggestion. ;-) luckily ford has a good design on their valve cover gaskets, so they stay in place pretty well durring install.

What he said. Just go out there and tear into it. It's really very easy. You don't even HAVE to remove the clutch cable if you don't want to. But you'll need to remove it upon the cam cover install

You could unbolt the master cylinder from the hydroboost(2 bolts) and swing the master out of the way, that will give you some room right there. Torque spec on the valve cover bolts is 20 lb/ft just FYI.
