Hey whats involved I havent done it in years and forget can I do it with basic tools without smashing in my face when it pops out? I got some H&Rs chillin that ive been meaning to put in for months and I have nothing to do tonight!

I have aftermarket LCAs/UCAs if that matters.

Thanks

Put the car on jack stands so the rear axle can "sag." Put the jack back under the diff. Jack it up just slightly to push the axle up (to take the pressure off the shocks. Remove either the upper or lower shock bolt/nut. Lower the jack under the axle. The springs should practically fall out. Some times you got push down on one side at a time to "articulate" the axle but they will come out easy. With the axle all the way down like that and the shocks un hooked, there is hardly any tension on the springs at all. Its a cake walk. No need to worry about a spring to the face.

Sweet so just jack up by the axle after I put some jackstands under it, unbolt the shock and then just let the rear end down by the axle and thats it? awesome!

thanks

Thats it. Like I said, you might have to use your foot to push down on the brake disc to get the axle to sag enough for the spring to fall out.

You'll need to unbolt the quad shocks as well before lowering the axle. No biggie.

No you don't... I did the first time, but not the second time. you can do it either way. if you got new U/L control arms, you don't need the quad shocks anyways, so :dunno:

Watch the brake line. If you just let the axle drop, you'll be hanging it off a 14 year old rubber hose... and that's not good.
