So I was bored at work today (I am a Manager at Autozone while I go to school) and I took a look at the Distributor listed for the 94-95 5.0 since mine has a ton of miles and the Hall effect sensor maybe going out. I pop open the box and find......its a Fox distributor body with a metal plug to block off the TFI area and the SN95 hall effect sensor inside of it! WTF? I called a local O'reillys and ordered one of theres to check as see if it has the correct body. Has anyone else replaced their Distributor and if so where did you get it, since I assume Ford doesn't carry the correct one anymore.

I got mine from Rockauto.com and it worked like new for less than $100 shipped. If you want a new ford OEM dizzy, check out eBay, there's been a seller there with a bunch of them. They sell anywhere from $70ish to $150

I checked them and its from the same reman company and part number as autozone. But I will check ebay I just never go there for parts since the 94-95 stuff dried up lol.

Sorry, but Autizone sucks at 94-95 distributors. The same thing happened to me there. Twice. A Fox body distrib with the correct pip sensor. Unfortunately, the diamemter of the shaft is like 1/16th too big to fit in a 94-95.

I got mine at Advanced Auto parts. Comes with a LIFETIME warranty. If it ever fails, bring it back, and they give you a new one. Dunno if you have Advanced Auto Parts in that part of the country, but I hope you do.

I went to the Ford dealer at first. I was told that there actually are a few NEW replacement distributors that were bought up by some company in the midwest and I could get one, but it was close to $400.00 and would take 4-5 days to ship. I said "No." Advance had it in-stock, with warranty. Hard to pass up.

Damn the closest one is in Gallup or Clovis :( I ordered one for the lolz at O'Reillys (they carry the same brand) and the correct one came in. I am tempted to buy it but I did find a MSD one on craigslist. I am on the fence on the MSD one since money is a bit tight right now.

I went and got a Igntion Control Module from Autozone(only reason i went there is cuz they were the only place still open, no offense to you, but i dont shop there unless its an absolute emergency) when he pulled it out of the box, I told him it look like a Fox TFI and he said no thats right for your car. Told him i didnt think it was but i will give it a shot. Came back 10 minutes later and returned it cuz its for a Fox and not an SN. I told them that they need to fix their catalogue-ing but i dont think they ever did.

I work for Knechts Auto Parts over in Oregon. A-1/Cardone is a good reman brand in my experiences. I would try to find a store that can get their hand on that brand

I have a different view. They are hit or miss since they don't use new electronics in their remaned distributors (usually just a new bushing and slap it back together as long as the electronics pass). I had two that had bad sensors. The car would run while cold but once it got up to operating temp the sensor would take a dump. Took me a week of F**king with the car and spending $$ to figure it out. Went with a Brand New Richporter unit from Kragen and haven't had a problem since.

Ive been running this dist for a year now with no problems. They most likely use the same Casting for both. For $2 more than a remaned dist it sounded like a good deal too me.

No offence taken I just work there but don't love the company...
BTW autozone does carry A1 Cardone as Does Oreillys. It seems they ran out of 94-95 Cores and that is why sometimes they have Foxbody style ones with the blockoff.

I would do some research on this forum before you go with MSD. I hear that our cars DO NOT LIKE MSD distributors. I do not have 1st hand knowledge of this, but on just about every thread for dizzys on 94-95 GT's, someone says to stick with OEM stuff. And most of those guys are pretty smart and experienced on the subject.

I have gone through 2 MSD Billet Distributor's at the price of $289.00. The biggest problem I have was the Alum. housing as the engine came up to temp. expanded in the block and you could not adjust timing. MSD told my to put the housing in a lathe and turn it down a few thousands. As the housing expanded out it also expanded in on the shaft. So now the shaft was grinding on the alum. housing and dropping shaving in the oil pan. NOT GOOD!! I purchased the second one because they said they had the problem fixed. Guess what, that would be a big fat f*ck-no !! Guess what I had to do again. Stay away from them at all costs!!
