Does anybody know of anything that will remove tree sap that has been cooked on for like 6 months?

DO NOT DO THAT... This will remove wax and chew up paint...

Yea its the point to remove the wax, remove the sap, It will only chew up the paint as much as the sap has gotten in to it. When I detailed about 5 years ago, both toyota and the other professional shop used this method and i never once had any issue with paint being damaged because of the glass cleaner....

If its big blogs of it thats dried up hard, you can probably get it wet, let it soak, and knock it off with your thumb nail. A wax, polish, or body prep solvent will take care of the rest. BUT, I have seen where the big blobs of sap have eaten up clear coat.
