Took 3.5 hours. Had to grind 2 T10 screw heads off from the front retainer and 1 of the 16 rear retainer bar plastic nuts. Anyone have a part # for those stupid plastic 12 point nuts? I'm gonna need at least 4.

What was wrong with your top that you needed to remove it?

old and torn. Rear window was separated from the top too. I bought the KEE one piece to replace it.

You might try NPD for the parts. I'll be curious to see the new top when you get it install. Mine is due...

Nice job.

I changed the top on a Rover 216 Convertible a few years back. Took me 12 hours to get it off owing to many a seized or threaded screw / nut and then a further 12 hours to fit the new one, including treating some of the metal parts I took off.

As with your good self Never Again, but it did look good once done.

Regards

TMW

The worst? Either fitting the new top over the rear studs in the trunk area or trying to staple the corner flaps up front. The staple "tracks" are brittle and break easy and they are riveted in place. I'm not sure if Ford has replacement available. I made some out of $1store cutting board.
