What do you mean by not being very friendly?

I mean it looked like a pain in the ass to install. I'll have to re-read the instructions again, see if I remember correctly. Did you get the bolt-in version or weld-in?

Hey ReplicaR, I think I remember you reading that you are heading towards TT. I created an Excel file to help me plan out my TT changes and allow me to easily do some what-if comparisons when determining what changes will impact my classing. There's a link to the Excel file here in this post, check it out let me know if it was helpful for you.

Wow, thank you. I'll definitely look through this file. I've got a few days before I start a new job anyway, so might as well do something to occupy my time, other than netflix.

Sure thing. If you have any questions on it, let me know!

Bit of an update. The car was running like shit lately, so I decided to take it to the shop that's been working on it for a while. They went through it, and found that fuel pressure regulator was leaking fuel into the intake manifold. Once that was changed, the car still ran super rich, so they retuned it as well, and here is the result. 360whp and 366wtq

Also adjustable rear bar was installed.

good numbers dmitry! that car has gotta be damn stout!

Thanks Brett, it feels good. I'm going to the autox with Speed Ventures next week to play with it and dial in the new rear bar. Really looking forward to finding that balance.

So, a bit of an update: After going to the autocross event a month ago, I found out that my stiffer rear bar didn’t do what I was expecting it to do, which was to give me more front end grip by shifting balance from rear to front. I did get some rotation out of it off throttle, but on throttle I was still getting understeer. After speaking to MM techs again, they recommended to go stiffer on springs, most likely because I’m bottoming out front suspension. The recommended rates were 450 front, 300 rear. I’ve ordered those springs, and will be putting them in next weekend, as well we trimming the front bumpstop to get a little more travel out of the struts. Hopefully this will give me a great balance, I’m really looking forward to that

Installed the springs, but haven't had a chance to test the car out at the limit, but the day is coming soon. I've ordered new rotors and pads. Going with race pad front and rear this time, away from race pad front street pad rear setup. I've been hearing a lot of good things about CarboTech pads, and decided to try their combination on my car. Ordered plain rotors front and back, and XP12 pads in the front with XP8 pads in the rear. The reasoning for the CarboTech came from several of my GTA friends having plenty of success with those pads, and the pad dust is not corrosive unlike most of the race pads, which means that it can be simply wiped off with a rag, without damaging the wheels. I am also planning on yanking some weight off the car, by gutting the trunk completely, possibly removing the rear seat, and most likely removing smog pump, since the car is not street legal anymore, and I don't drive it anywhere. Another idea I had was trimming some of the inner layer of the factory hood, since that could take some weight off. Factory fiberglass is very thick, and if you trim off the center section, it could add up to pretty good savings, taking it to almost the weight of some of the aftermarket fiberglass hoods. I'll try it first on my spare hood, and if successful, I will apply the changes to factory piece as well.

Hey Dmitry! Build is looking great. Just got caught up on the last year or so. The power is insane! I can only imagine what it feels like on corner exit when it hooks!!

Anyways, just wanted to chime in on the understeer issues you're working out. Going through your thread I haven't seen where you list your rear end setup. I think you mention of a MM box in the back, but what exactly is back there? You've upgraded all sorts of stuff in the front for max grip, but that ass end is super critical for the correct balance.

I've learned the rear suspension is extremely critical to dial in the dinosaurs. 2 things that helped my setup: 1. I learned that my rear axle was moving front/back, it was rolling on the UCA with different levels of loads and articulation. I attempted a PM3L, and it was horrible. Just didn't work for me. 2. Adding 415 lb springs in the back to correct my roll center after the PHB made a big difference. I know you run C/O, but MM should be able to help.

I feel like I just this 94 balanced at the end of last season, then the motor let go. I'm so disgusted with it, I took the season off. But 2015 will be the year of #71. :)

I just started running my 05 on track, and so far the impression is leaps ahead of the SN. Even with 500+ lbs of weight. Most of it IMO has to do with the level of balance in the rear suspension design.

I'm glad to see this car still roaring around. Still one of my all time favorites.

Thanks. I think at this point I'm probably keeping the car forever.

Rich, my problem is pretty simple. I'm bottoming out the front end, which is why I get understeer to begin with. I used to thing that I've had incorrect balance, and I was probably rear biased anyway, since I could trailbrake really deep in the car. I tried a stiffer rear bar, and while that gave me the rotation, it would only happen when I was off the throttle, and the car still understeered on throttle. So, in reality while it felt more exciting, I was actually going slower, because the car would be all out of shape under braking and off throttle. With the new spring rate change, and trimmed bumpstops, I should have the balance I'm looking for and the front end grip. At least that's the impression I get from what I felt from the chassis and what MM setup guy said.
