As the title states, i am doing retrofit projectors on the mustang. I was wondering on where i should get them. I have looked online all over high and low but all i find is basic sites that say i should buy this over theirs. I have went to yukesretrofithid.com and all i see is complete headlights on there.

So my question is where do i buy them and with what bulb? i see ones for H1 bulb and others with 9007/9005 blah blah. Im stuck on which kit to buy. i have seen ebay ones and im scared of the chinese and japanese and what not writing on the ballasts.

As he said I got my stuff from TRS.com and went with the mirimoto projectors with the H1 bulb myself. You can pick what ever style you want really but the H1 seems pretty easy to do.

So you got the bi-xenon morimoto mini stage III kit? or did you get the bi-xenon morimoto mini h1 6.0? for those that got the wire harness, can you post what the harness looks like?

I went with the 6.0 myself. The wire hrns just uses a relay to take power from the battery when the lights are on. When the ballast is initially turned on the amperage spikes to 10-12amps before it settles down to around 8 amps and that change can cause a CEL or brake light warnings.

So the reason why i asked is because, i have the bixenon hid kit now. This is the one i have,
bixenonSetup.jpg

Now my lights work off of a high low beam. if you see, the bulb has 3 connectors on it, basically positive, negative and then it has the connector on it where there is a selenoid that moves the bulb to focus it. I was wondering if the projector has basically the same connecor for the "high/low" feature.

let me know if that makes any sense?

I have no idea what the bixenon controller is honestly and not sure what connector you mean. Do you mean to connect to the stock headlight harness?

mine is like that as well. I think the difference is he is showing a 9006 bulb too fit in a stock housing rather then into an actual projector housing. I have an extra set of the 6.0's I could part with still NIB pm me if your interested.

So off of the hid headlight bulb itself, there are three connectors coming off of it. The two that look each other are the positive and negative. The third connector is the what connects to the high low beam feature on the hid kit. Now I was wondering If the connector that comes off of the projector that allows the high low beam feature is the same as the high low beam on the harness for my kit will plug into each other. That is my question.

no they are not the same. You can get a hrns at vatozone to plug into the stock hrns that would give you easy access to the low/high and the ground in the hrns to connect too.

ok so the morimoto moni h1 6.0 has a flap on the inside that controls the high low beam effect. the connector is basically a positive an negative wire that controls the the flaps movement. So i went and took a look at my kit and took some pictures.
left most connector is what plugs into the hid bulb for the high low beam effect. the middle is the power source for the hid ballast the third is a ground

now these are off of the bulb, positive and negative connectors

the connector on the bulb

the connector on the harness.

Now i was wondering if the connector looks simular to these connectors. i can always splice the the connector wire into it if need be. but im am hoping i wont have to.

The connector for the high beam on the 6.0s is different. Its kind of a make-your-own style that has the pins(flat pins not round like yours) into the plastic hrns and lock them in place. allows you to put it through a smaller hole when assembling them.

So i can pretty much snip off the connector on the HID i have and use the that as the connector for the projector... that is assuming it is a make your own style...
