I forgot to give updates and will try to do so tomorrow. I do have the car running and have been driving it for a few weeks now. I have a little over 1k miles on the setup.

I do have a few videos, and one of them is a burnout (ish) video. But you don’t get to see the smoke lol.

Wiring harness looks very nice! I like the color choice on the motor also. The rubber glove on the tail shaft made me laugh, looked like it was ready for a high five!

Ok, so I’m a lazy bum and I apologize for not keeping this updated. This left off with doing some wiring bits. I finished up the car side harness and got it installed. 5B756B07-2BDC-4DC1-8EE9-3C5D90228112.jpeg
This is a signal conditioner for the exhaust cam position sensors. They are VR sensors and the megasquirt doesn’t like them so they need to be converted to square wave like the intake cam sensors. This does the trick. 8AB87931-6071-4E35-8F87-EC7A395FD8AA.jpeg E7521FD5-EEB6-40B8-93BD-85F6DE5D30DE.jpeg E51B584F-C52A-43C1-AF71-2D6E8F2AD976.jpeg

After I got that all wired up and put in the car, I was able to fire it up and hear it run for the first time.

I had a bunch of things happen after that but then had to move in to finishing the coolant system and figuring out a throttle cable setup. I wanted to uses as many factory hoses as I could, so they would be easy to get should one break. These are the heater hoses. The right hose fit good with just the end cut off, the left hose went behind the intake, I cut it off and found a random hose on the shelf with a molded 90, barbed them together and used Gates power grip clamps to hold it so it’s clean. It’s just big heat shrink basically. With that figured out, I had to mount the degas bottle. Still retaining factory hoses, I was limited to the location. So I built a bracket out of some flat stock and put some riv-nuts in the core support. It nice and sturdy, keeps factory hoses, fits just right. And since I went to a mechanical throttle body, which is an accufab made for the coyote intake, it bolts on nice but needs a bracket for the throttle cable. I used a lokar cable for a fox body that is cut to length. 3148A0DA-4599-4E71-AF06-54286E0DA109.jpegF99B7A9D-D9BD-44C4-B527-C415702D9B3A.jpeg

Next up was the lower radiator hose. The stock coyote hose wouldn’t work because the radiator sizes are different. So I searched the web for hoses with the correct sizes on the ends and wound up with a hose from a 6cyl Jeep Cherokee (I think). It has help up pretty well, and does not leak. 543B1997-8FB8-4C82-BA9D-AF3DE10F8F5D.jpeg2B8FBC0C-66B8-4A3D-B7C9-9536FF12C13E.jpeg CEB51E18-F306-4A8D-912B-5A57EF548ADA.jpeg

Why did you choose a manual valve body instead of the drive by wire? Better response or other reasons?

It’s not particularly easy to get the throttle by wire stuff to work with megasquirt, and I’m not sure I would have enough outputs from the computer to actually make it work.
