Well. Got on my car a bit tonight for my buddy, no big shit..and on my way home, totally puttin along, and all the sudden when I went to shift I smelled and heard a really high pitched grinding, as if I was dragging a chain..I knew the throwout bearing was going out, so thats what happened. Got it home in second gear. . 16 dollar part..But its a 16 dollar headache!! :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :crying: :crying:

You got longtubes on the car? shit... you limp it to my driveway and my buddies and i will have the T/O changed in 2 maybe 3 hours... We've gotten quite proficient with tranny installs... we did my T5 back in October, and my buddies TKO600 about 2 weeks ago... threw them on jackstands and got to work... it sucks to have to replace the POS, but you might as well do the clutch and pilot bearing while you're down there... no point in having another headache again in a few months, weeks, or years if you can replace it all now.

tob is like ~$40, the pilot bearing is like ~$16...I would put in a new clutch while you are down there, that is what i did when mine went.
