i see tons of nice stangs on here with great looking paint! until the front bumper comes into view, lol!

easy and guaranteed way to never get rock chips again.
you could wrap your front bumper with saran wrap or masking tape when you know your gonna hit the freeway for a long trip, lol! seen it done!

simply dont tailgate! seriously! when on the freeway these bumpers are getting destroyed so keep some distance from you and car in front! i have driven my car to kentucky, cleveland an pa and i dont have one single rock chip in my front bumper! this may sound stupid but really it keeps your paint looking good!

think of it like this. if your traveling at a speed of 70mph and the car in front of you is kicking up little rocks and other particles its going to have no where else to go but in the air and directly into you front bumper and front of your hood!

seriously fellas anyone that hates these rock chips do this and you will never see rock chips again :)

rocks can get flung alot further then 2-3 car lengths needed to not tailgate. In az they line all their highways with crushed granit since nothing grows with out watering it there. Glass insurance there is optional and you would be an idiot not to get it as your lucky to get a year or two out of a windshield before it gets cracked.

hopefully they have improved on this stuff. a girl I knew with a lancer had something similar, but over the years it yellowed, and was incredibly hard to remove.

After the sun hits it for a while you also end up with a sun fade on non coated area greater than fade on coated areas. Anytime someone is close to the front they can also see this layer of clear plastic.

After coming back from the A.M. show a semi was kicking a lot of small particles on my freshly painted hood. I was cringing on the inside, and when I got home I use some quick detailer to see if there was some serious damage, thank God there was barely any.

The only way to keep the paint perfect is to not drive the car. I am trying to learn to enjoy my vehicles more and just drive them. Crap will happen and I will just fix it when it does.

well if you dont care about rock chips then by all means tailgate away, lol!

some are like me though and hate nice paint everywhere except the front bumper full of fn rock chips! so since i've realized all the cars i've spent thousands painting were getting f'd up in the nose with rock chips this actually saves alot of $$$!

all i do is try if possible to avoid fast speeds right behind any vehicle. it really does eliminate them pretty much all together. like i said i have driven a few thousand miles this summer with new paint and its still like new! not one chip in the bumper!

its actually good advice. just think while your on the highway about keeping distance from you and the vehicle in front of you...

at 70mph on the freeway i stay further away then 2 car lengths, lol! thats just safe driving right there!

follow this golden rule, 1 car length for every 10mph your driving....keep good distance and you wont get your nose all chipped up!

My front bumper is pretty much effed. Would love to repaint it but at that point I might as well repaint the whole car. When I used to drive the turnpike and blue route to work for the most part it sounded like the front of my car was getting sand blasted! Bascially it was from trucks a few cars ahead of me driving slightly on the left hand shoulder kicking up all the junk.

my front bumper actually looks better then my back bumper for some reason. I swear there are more chips there just not sure why.

when i went to college in Wyoming I would wrap the entire front of the car in blue painters tape when I would come home. Once you do it a few times and get the 3" wide rolls of tape, things go pretty quick. lol.
