Hey guys, I'm just wanting to start a thread and maybe you guys can help me sniff out the reason i got such a rough ride in my car...

Mods in suspention:

Eibach Prokit with poly iso's
KYB GR2's Fox Spec
Steeda CC plates
Poly Front A arm Bushings
Poly Steering rack bushings
Kenny Brown Subframes
It has the stock K member brace

Thats all i can think of... any ideas why my car rides so ruff?

Thanks
Mitchell

:( someone said in the bilisten thread that their car with prokit and bilisten's rode better than stock i think... is there any other springs for a vert that has a good ride quality?

O and its 95 R's with a 255 wide 40 or 45 series kumho.

They might think it rides better than stock, but each person has their own perspective.

It's pretty much im possible to lower a car and have a better ride than stock, if you did, it would slam the bumpstops over everything.

Yeah, you pretty much lose the "cushy" suspension feel once you ditch the lift kit that was installed by the factory.

yeah, try getting rid of the poly iso's and going back to the factory ones. i had the front poly iso's in my car, and while it handled amazing around corners and the steering response was really good, it rode horrible. i went from the stock 600# springs + poly iso's to 750# springs with stock iso's and the ride was soooo much smoother. try doing that first. stock ISO's shouldnt cost you more than $50 for all 8 of them.

My ride quality did suffer with the Steeda Springs but not as much as some others i have used. Having low profile tires and a heavy car doesn't help much either. Put more stuffing in your seat :)

hmmm i was thinking that it might be the cc plates because they are sperical ... don't think thats how you spell it but it doesn't have a poly or rubber bushing... just a metal bushing...

I guess i could try the reg bushings for the springs... just wanted to do the whole poly thing though... but who knows.

That's exactly why I haven't lowered my car. Ruins your ride and kills your 60 ft. Everyone says why don't you lower your car and that's my answer. I follow function over form.

hmmm, i never heard that a little lower will kill 60ft times? I've heard that if you slam it, it will

So one question guys... do drag springs have any better ride quality?

I agree that the lower spring rate of the stock springs and extra clearance will help with weight transfer so your 60' times would improve. But, your car also sits a few inches higher than a lowered car exposing the no-so-aerodynamic underside of your car, which has to have some negative effects to your total time. I think it's a toss up. Either slammed or lifted, I'm sure it doesn't make much of a difference either way as far as track times are comcerned. If you gain it down low, you'll lose it on the top end and vice versa. It's all what you build your car for. It may launch harder at the track, but almost everyone can agree that the lift kit looks like crap and won't handle as well as a lowered car with a higher spring rate.

You are a perfect candidate for the Bullit suspension kit. Only lowers about .75-1 inch and gives a slightly firmer then stock ride. Its what i wanted originally but was back ordered for months. I think its available again but not at the $330 it was when i wanted it.

You're right, it's available and up around $500 now. I have it on my car and it dropped about 1.5" It also rides like a roller skate in the bumps, but not as bad as some other kits I suppose.
