Hmmm not sure ill be doing rear coil overs for a while.

So is MM really the only brand that makes k members and a arms that can withstand street driving? That seems crazy.

Well Griggs Racing straight up told me do not run their suspension on the street haha. As for UPR they just don't know how to weld correctly and their parts fall apart. I've heard mixed reviews on Granatelli, and I've heard some good things about QA1. as for steeda their k-member is way over-priced for what it is...

This thread is definately a winner. Even though I knew a lot of the information here...I still learned some.

I ran MMR Coil overs with a 175# Spring..

I still don't know if id run a coil over setup like the MMR kit on the street. Maybe just for track use.

IDK if its just me but the MMR Kit seemed cheap to me, atleast the threaded sleeves over the strut were not fitting correctly and i had to notch it to make fit strut then when it was together it creeked poped and sounded like crap. Was it just this kit i had or are all of them like this. I see alot of people running the UPR kit and that looked cheap to me as well.

anyone else with an experience like this? I can't have noises coming from my suspension, it'll drive me crazy.

Onyx, FWIW I run MM front coilovers with Bilstein HD's and 250lb springs in front, and '03 Cobra Bilstein shocks and Intrax lowering springs in the rear. THe MM's don't make any noise at all, and it rides like a dream on the street, and it's is pretty slammed in the front. My car is daily driven through downtown New Haven every day where the roads aren't that great, and I have no problems whatsoever.

For a good compromise spring rate, I'd say 250lb-300lb fronts for the street. When my car isn't a DD anymore, I'll be upping the rate, but not for a while.

Good luck :headbang:

MMR kit? Or MM? MMR is rebadged granatelli suspension.

Maximum Motorsports (MM) iS top notch and quiet if installed correctly. Onyx, I wouldn't worry about noises, there won't be any IMO.

I assume that by Tokico Premium, you mean the HP series. If that's the case, it has to do with valving of the shock. HP series is designed to be a mild performance shock, so it's good for small increases in the springs rates, such as H&R Sport or Eibach Pro-Kit. Most people go to coilover kits when off shelf soft springs are no longer cutting it. Sure you can get coilover kit, and have soft springs matched to the shock, but you would just spend thousand of dollars on something that could be achieved by springs for quarter of that price.

ahh ok .. well reasoning of the ? is because im wanting to get a tubular k member and a-arms.. which most require coil over setup ... only company that gives an option is racecraft.com ... but its also like 100 bucks or more for the spring perches... and im turning the car more into a high performance street then anything

If you are going after high performance street suspension, you should still think about going to a better shock. I think that Koni SA(or Bilstein HD) and H&R Race is a perfect street combo. It's noticably stiffer, rolls a lot less, and actually keeps the car at the ride height where traction is still good. Tubular stuff is not really necessary, unless you are planning on doing some serious track time.
