Hello, Just wanted to share the mess that was my throw-out bearing. Thanks, Chris Noise at idle - Pulling out the pieces - Notice the ball bearings and strips of metal laying at the bottom of the bell housing.
I've had that once or twice. Hope you used a Ford TOB for replacement. The cheap ones don't last very long at all.
Most of the parts were FRPP - + clutch + PP + clutch fork + TOB The cable was Ford, too. So I'm sure hoping I'm set for a good long while.
Ah yes I remember this sound, mine had even managed to weld some of the ball bearings together.. Imho definetly go with the frpp tob
Mine started off with intermittent noises but no real change in pedal feel. Then on the way home from a 30-mile trip it got worse and worse. At times the clutch pedal wouldn't return unless I pulled it up with my toe. The last thing it did under its own power was pull into the garage. After that the clutch pedal wouldn't move anymore. Not a bad story to tell now that it's all behind me.
Mine did that when I was 3 hours away from home and if it wasn't making that horrible screeching it was making a horrible grinding noise.
I think everyone has had it happen. I've always replaced with Ford and never had any issues. Always seems to be the ones that cheap out and I have to fix those issues.
