I've been contacted by a guy in Rotterdam, Netherlands that owns a '96 GT Vert. with a DRL module that has "bought the farm". Yea, they are mandated there so....... Any northern U.S. or Canadian members here know where a used module could be found & shipped there? I'm going to contact my local "Ford Guy" in the morning about acquiring a new replacement but.......... Any ideas?

Thanks, GT

The OEM unit malfunctioned and was removed 1 yr. ago. The module is so integrated into the electrical sysytem that it's removal is causing other issues, as well as setting him up for traffic fines.

He's just requesting a contact/OEM supplier contact or something, to get his hands on one. He's having a bit of trouble locating one there in Europe.

Me, I know nothing about the part, what years it covers, exactly what it looks like, nothing.

Let me know what there going to charge him, I can pop over to the junkyard if its a ridiculous price.

Most US states dont require DRLs but here in Canada we must have them (although mine are disconnected)

1) Since the module is so intertwined into the electrical system, is the module the same P/N for the vert and the coupe?

Thoughts: DRL's go off when e-brake is pulled and vert top operation requires e-brake to be on.

2) What years does this particular module P/N span?

GT,

i talked to a friend that works for a dealership, he said the dealership can get one by noon, all i have to do is wait for Phil to let me what he wants to do.

I conversed with Phil this morning a little. His top won't even retract at this point. Appears the top and the DRL module get their signal from the same place.

This devices idiosyncrasies are all new territory to me.

If the e-brake light doesn't function, there is no signal to the top OR the DRL module. That eliminates the need for 2 DRL module P/N's.
I imagine the whole dash wiring harness for the exported cars is different than the U.S. units. Who knows...
