I'm trying to figure out what the name of this specific part is called
I'm not sure this applies to SN95s.
My folks had a fox body which was a manual.
I'm going to give the best details from what i can remember. (its been so long since i seen this part)
There is a part that's made up of plastic and has little teeth on it.
I believe its part of the clutch pedal assembly
But what i remember is, this little part had a major role in being able to press in the clutch and shift gears
I remember the little teeth getting striped off and i wasn't able to change gears any more.
I also remember my father having to pretty much take out the dash to replace it.

If I'm not mistaken the damage was caused when i would press in on the clutch pretty hard and fast.

Any ideas on what this part is/called? and if our cars even have this.

Sorry if I'm not giving enough details, this was some odd 15-16 years ago.

plastic gears in the dash? All that comes to mind is an odometer gear.

http://sn95forums.com/showthread.php?15219-Replace-Your-Odomoter-Gear-w-Pics

or a transmission speedometer gear

http://sn95forums.com/showthread.ph...edometer-gear-(not-in-the-instrument-cluster)

otehr than that, theres the metal input shaft on the transmission. which has teeth, but its metal. (10 spline on the T5 and T45, if i recall correctly)

... thats all i can think of with teeth. the transmission output shaft that locks into the driveshaft as well.

ah yes.
thats the clutch quadrant.

they fail after years of use. the teeth break off, they warp, they shatter.

you can buy aftermarket ones out of metal.

I *hate* steeda. But I suggest using their clutch quadrant, cable, firewall adjuster kit.

you dont need to remove the dash, if you're comfortable with laying on your back. lol. just pull that kotter pin on the end and slide the old one off -- new one on.

I'll vouch for the Steeda double-hook quadrant and adjustable clutch cable. Mine have worked flawlessly when I actually drive the car :) You should consider changing the transmission's fluid (unless you already have recently) and installing a short throw shifter to further improve the driving experience!

Just had the fluid changed 4 days ago, along with having the rear rebuilt with 4.10s and mosier axles. Plus a nice Pro 5.0 shifter. I plan on drag racing at our local track and i really don't want this part failing on me. :)
