So, It seems as if my speedo/trip/odometer decided to give up on me....

I've heard that it could possibly be the worm gears behind the dash that drive everything, but I was also wondering if that would have affected my tach.... But my tach is also hooked up to a DM speedcal

any other ideas as well...

the tach should still be working even if the worm gear o any of the other gears are shot.
Like on mine, the worm gear is ok but the main one is trashed, the trip and odometer just wont work but my tach and speedo are fine.
I was going to say the speedo cable but then the tach doesn't fit in that comment anymore.

if your cruise control works it's the gear on the back of the speedo.
if your cruise doesn't work it's the gear on the tranny

My car has done that twice also since I installed the speed-cal 3 years ago. Just disconnect your battery for a couple minutes, then it will work fine. Its kinda common with the speed-cal.

That hasn't fixed anything for me.... Yes, I've had the same problem like you in the past but it was only my speedo that wouldn't work, or that it would jump around from time to time.... But I've never had this problem..

I'm assuming that it is the gear on the tranny then.. since i took the car out and i couldn't get it to ''cruise

now, I am wondering what exactly it is I am looking for... As what do I tell the parts store people what I need..

the speedo sensor is on the left side of the tranny toward the tail shaft. 1 bolt holds it in (#8 socket i think), when you pull it out you'll notice a plastic gear on the end, and that's held on by a clip on the end that you slide off. don't lose that clip. take it to the stealership to get a new one or count the teeth and get it on order

Got one from the dealership here after doing some searing on the net... Just got to wait until thursday for it to come in.... $6 compared to $10 from steeda and to top it off $11 in shipping :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: is what i had given to them... crazy they would charge that much.

Alright good news... Got my speedo back working... Apparently I'm a dumbass and missed a blown fuse underneath the hood... But my trip and mileage still don't work, so I'm assuming that those would be the worm gears behind the dash..

Yeah, I'm not nearly worried about those as I was just getting my speedo to work... Other things are coming up before these reach the top of the list; now I know at least I'm not speeding as I pass by cops.
