I have a 95 GT and I JUST got it out of the shop and noticed the speedometer, odometer, and trip are not working. I looked at the fuses and they seemed fine (I am going to give them a second look). I think the VSS is bad but am not for sure. Any suggestions? How difficult is the VSS to replace? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If the cruise control works then the vss is fine and the problem is with the speedo gear behind the cluster.
If the CC doesn't work then the vss or the plastic gear on the vss is the culprit.
Assuming all of the fuses are good.

The cruise control did not work so I changed the VSS and it still does not work. I checked the connection the plugs into the VSS and I am not getting any volts. Any more suggestions? Does the VSS wires go straight to the PCM?

I think I was told about a gear in the tranny? I just really don't remember what it did. Is something didn't work, it might be this. Surely 1 of you knows what this means.

I would have taken it straight back to the shop, or at the very least called them to see if they had any ideas. The guy that took it apart might know right off the bat which hrns he left unplugged or what could have happened. Calling back now will not look as good but I would still start there.
