Bought a CAI by SR from American Muscle
got it last Monday. It was 80 bucks.
I thought how hard could it be to make a good CAI?
So I open up the box and the flange is all warped and the hardware looks
like something from harbor freight.
The dang thing was a pain to fit too.
the welds looked like they were done by a drunk 2 year old
the metal plate that attaches to the fender was what didn't fit well.
Anyway I may get a better one in the future. Here are a couple photos.

No pics showed up. SR's an okay brand, but I guess its just a budget orientated cai. Did you call AM and tell them of the poor quality?

I have one of their intakes... Mine fit up beautifully and my only problem was the heat shield for the fender was a suuuuupppperrr right fit. That thing alone took me 30 minutes to get sitting right.

Fixed the pics...
I am not impressed with SR...
Called AM they actually don't sell the same model anymore
Like 3 days after i received mine it is no longer on their web site.
They said they would refund, but it is sat and I had my car apart.
I made it fit.
Very poor quality.
must be why they quit selling it. I was just lucky enough to get the last one! lol

I guess you get what you paid for. At least it was only a cai and not something important.

Yeah how conveinent lol.. Yeah last one of the deformed batch! haha. I have a C&L ram air intake paired with a 76mm maf, really high quality, well built no problems.. And its really easy to take it off : put it on. Don't think its sold anymore though

Still don't understand why guys are paying for the simplest and inexpensive DIY project you can do to our cars. There should be a DIY CIA sticky somewhere

I read all the warnings on the cheap cold air intakes so I dropped a little more doing and got the BBK cai along with the 70mm throttle body. Should arrive tomorrow so I'll see how well the figment is but I read it's very nice.

had name brand BBK CAI on my '96 and that metal fender plate never fit right. they just never do. lol.

My name brand JLT CAI on my '04 cobra needed modified, too. At least they were kind enough to make theirs out of plastic so a die-grander could be used for modification.

Just installed my bbk cai and it fit very well. No modification to fender well plate. Filter was a pita to install. Other than that pretty simple. Added with the 70 mm throttle body, this really woke my car up.
