I had a stroker kit, it was a cost effective option at the time. Now with the Boss block, big bores for less money are a reality. It's been proven over and over again that big bores make better power and torque acrossed the board. These motor's are already square (bore=stroke) so there's really no need for an increased stroke, especially when there are so many benefits to having the larger bore instead.
Benefit's like, less side load on the cylinder walls compared to a stroker, better r/s ratio, increased flow from being able to get the valves unshrouded. Where Ford screwed the pooch with the mod motors was it's anemic bore size, and inability to grow within the architecture.
