Livernois (spelling?) makes a good set up for the 4.6 PI.

they have high comp. and low comp. pistons, you just have to tell them which ones you want....

ill try and find the URL to it when I get off work.

I love my stroker kit. Gives you some more low end torque,
A big Yes vote from me :headbang:

Why a no go on a stroker J.R.? usually you've got a good reason for your input and I'd like to hear it before I keep spending money in this direction.

It would help to know the intended use and reason for the build.

My car has 185k miles on it but runs great. I know the first time I spray this long block I run the risk of trashing it, so I'm not going to. And I'd like to throw a blower on the car in the future. If I'm going to put money into a forged bottom end may as well pick up the displacement and make up for the lack of torque at the same time. nothing like gaining 10% displacement.

I had a stroker kit, it was a cost effective option at the time. Now with the Boss block, big bores for less money are a reality. It's been proven over and over again that big bores make better power and torque acrossed the board. These motor's are already square (bore=stroke) so there's really no need for an increased stroke, especially when there are so many benefits to having the larger bore instead.

Benefit's like, less side load on the cylinder walls compared to a stroker, better r/s ratio, increased flow from being able to get the valves unshrouded. Where Ford screwed the pooch with the mod motors was it's anemic bore size, and inability to grow within the architecture.

thats what i was figuring brought out the extra power. why have a set of heads that flows 2xx when you can't put that into the hole.

Thanks guys for your input...but if im doin this motor im doin it right wether it takes a year to put it in. My plans were already to bore it out. but with the 4.6s im not sure how big i can go. i wanted to do .20 over with the 5.1 stroker.. but if its safe to do more i want to........... btw i want to makes this an high compression n/a motor with mayb a shot of n2o lata down the line...

Boring has absolutely no benefits at all other than to clean up and true up the cylinder walls. There's no need to bore your block more than .020, unless you just want to make sure no one will ever rebuild it again.
