I found a great deal on some perfect condition 2000 mustang gt seats, cloth. i'm trying to decide between those and a set of summit racing seats. do any of you have experiences with either seats? the cloth ones would be cheaper, but I think the fake leather would look nicer and maybe be a better selling point of the car when/if i do sell it. what do you guys think? what are your opinions on either seat?

I have a set of brand new Procar sportsman seats that was gonna go in my 84 t-top but sold the car before putting them in, I also had a set in my old 86 vert and loved them. The black/blue are for sale.

summits for sure. new edge model seats are junk. they dont have any support they are just flat on the bottom portion. You slide around everywhere. hahah

I've got 01 power leather in my car. Unlike what Ninety8 said, they do have support, and you DONT slide around in them (Maybe if your a little 120lb chump?). I'll stick with them.

when did they get rid of the adjustable sides on the seats? Was that when they went to the new edge and stripped down alot of the options? Because of this I think I will just be getting a mine covered and take the advantage to do find someone that can do som nice custom work. I think they are comfortable with the side adjustments and the lower back pillow as well, just need the cloth updated on them.

I had the perforated leather seats in my 00 GT, while I liked the looks and miss the map pocket on the back of the pass seat I am still thinking of going with Summit sports

Can't beat the look and all the opinions I have read of them say they are a comfortable seat

I was planning to reuse the OEM tracks, just measure, drill and bolt them on

It doesnt work that way. Trust me I have repos from Ebay but they are probably the same manufacturer as Summit's seats. Most of the bolt locations of aftermarket seats are modeled after Corbeau. The holes in the seat that are used to bolt in the tracks are about 2 inches further inwards than a stock seat. That means that if you manage to bolt your OEM seat tracks to the aftermarket seat the tracks will be 2 inches too narrow to fit on the front floor studs and the rear floor bolt holes. I went the cheap route and bought Corbeau adapter plates from CJponyparts.com. The downside to these is that the seats are now about an inch taller than the stock seats and it will take a little while to get a comfortable driving position. You can buy just one set ($35) and use them as a template for the other seat. Or you can go ahead and just buy PROcar seat brackets which Ive seen go for about $75 a piece.

HERES A PIC OF MINE...NOT THE BEST PIC BUT YOU GET THE IDEA.
