I am not sure if am in the right forum. I just bought a 1998 Mustang and the suspension is bad. I don't want to lower it or mod it for high performance. I just want to restore it and if it turns out better than the original then that is welcome. I am looking for info on how to replace the worn out parts. Any direction would be appreciated.

Thank You

The car bounces and feels like a boat. So I would assume the coils and or the shocks/struts need replacing. Since I just got the car. i don't know if it has struts or shock absorbers or what and what I need to do to replace them.

Grab and haynes manual for the 94-04 mustang and it will give you the ways to check each component to see if they are bad or not..

And at stock height, the car will feel like a boat since the cars center of gravity is so high.

you have struts in the front and shocks in the rear, I also believe your 98 has quad shocks on the rear axle as well. For starters I am with c_me_pass_u with all your bushings, sway bar links, ball joints, and tie rods. I would replace all the bushings with polyurethane rather than rubber just for a longer life. Also, don't forget your brake lines (all of them, especially your bent ones from the master) and your fuel lines as well... depending on your climate as well. This would be a pretty solid start to restoring your ride.
