Well... you can cut the springs, but it's going to ride like crap. Otherwise, you can get coil-overs but those are also expensive. You'll jack up your suspension geometry all to hell too if you go that low not to mention needing CC plates. It all depends on your budget and your end goal.

To get it "low", you're going to have to do airbags. I have coilovers and have had my car as low as you can possibly get it and still be able to drive it. I was scraping on every bump in the road. It wasn't even low looking either.

how low do you want to go? What springs did you use?

I think mine is plenty low

HAL Kmember
QA1 CC plates
Eibach Pro- kit springs
Tokico D Spec Shocks Struts
Front FRPP Control Arms
AM UCA and LCA

I think airbags will be your best bet, talk to the man -> Tony

you have to prepare it for an aggressive drop. meaning this:

roll fender lips or cut them out (i suggest rolling to keep fender strength in tact)
i actually had a piece of my k-member notched in the center. seen all the scrapes and welded in a 4" piece of square tubing in that exact location.
completely get rid of your rear bump stop. it will cause violent rebound when hit by rear end.
invest in a quality adjustable shock that allows at minimum adj. for compression and rebound
the lesser the spring stiffnes the better at this point cause performance/handling spring rate is just going to beat you to death when ya delete a few coils.
also ya gotta delete the cats if legal in your town. they will scrape everything lol.

i drove my car slammed to the point of tucking some tire and actually was pretty comfy compared to some with simple 2" drops from a performance spring.

Coilovers. You can get a complete kit used for about $350-500.

Other then that, bags are your only option. If youre going to put hydraulics, then you don't deserve a mustang.
Keep in mind mustangs are not ideal for slamming. The exhaust isn't tucked, the K member hangs low, part of the oil pan is exposed, etc.

listen to him. nothing on this car is made to be in the weeds. get a bimmer if you want to slam something. I love my car, but this chassis has a lot of faults.

If 300-500 is your budget just stick to lowering springs for now. Coil-overs are basically struts/shocks with springs on them, so they go in the same place as your struts/shocks normally do. That means you get rid of your regular springs though.

Coilovers = coil over strut/shock

You buy a threaded sleeve (coilover kit) that will go over the strut/shock.
Then you get a hypercoil spring of your preferred length and spring rate and place it on the coilover sleeve. You will be able to adjust the ride height to your liking.

You can find a used kit on the corral: http://forums.corral.net/forums/suspension/

Remember to get struts that are compatible with the coilover kit you get.

Or you could also just get some big drop lowering springs and remove the isos like Onyx said.

Hope this helps.

understand that you will be limiting where you can take the car in the future with all of these being done as sooner or later you will meet a speed bump/dip that will cause some problems. That was the reason why I bagged mine and have loved it since but its significantly more $$$ then coil overs.

i always thought i could just buy a spindle or control arms that would lower my car further. if i combined them with my 2" lowering springs i already have it would give me the drop i want.

You can get adjustable heigh control arms but the problem is that there just isn't a lot of room in the wheel wells if you want to run any nice sized tire or want them flush with the fender like everyone wants. Tony knows how to go low but if you really want to go low bags is the way to go. Yes is sucks writing that check but you will smile every day after that! It has not stopped making me grin after almost a year.

As far as I know there are only rear control arms for that. There are no drop spindles on the market that I would personally be comfortable using on the street everyday. Racecraft makes some 2" drop spindles, but they don't guarantee them for road race-use or hard abuse. There are documented cases of them breaking on the track. It's more of a drag race catered thing I believe.

talking about nearly 4" in drop, lol. awesome! however you should reread my op :) you will have kmember and cat converter scraping all day, lol. you can get decent turn radious in these cars even tucking a little tire. do you know a welder? or can you weld?

Like others have said, instead of cutting the coils there is a better way of doing it, however you might not like how the car rides in the end....you need the following

lowering springs (something like the h&r race springs or the Eibach Sportline springs-lower drop than the pro kit)
Steeda x2 ball joints-drops the spindle height
steeda bump steer kit you almost need this if you go with the x2 ball joints to minimize the rubbing issue
Maximum Motorsports heavy duty rear lower control arms with the adjustable spring perch set to the lowest setting
Camber castor plates- Pony up the dough and get the Maximum motorsports one.

This should be able to give you the lowest drop with out cutting or going with a Coil over or airbags.

So basically if you want to go really low, buy a better car.

These cares aren't made to be slammed.
