The Fastback..

I have always been a fan of the old '67 Mustang fastbacks, and when the redesigning of the 2010 mustang was looming i was hoping for some kind of fastback variation. The 70's sort of saw the fast back, but i am just wondering if anyone else was/is hoping for a future fastback. I think Ford could make a BA version of the mustang in a fastback version...maybe in the GT500. Anyone have anything to add?

Idk if I like the Iacocca mustang. It looks like a lowered Boss 351, I like the '65-'66 Fastback. The new s197 chassis is just too bulky for me.

The S-197 is already a fastback. It's just as much a fastback as the 1965-1966 fastbacks were. That is where the S-197's design comes from.

Now, the S-197 does not take it's design cue's from the 67-68 fastback mustang, but the 2005-09 mustang is a fastback. Thankfully all versions of the S-197 are fastback inlcuding the V6's. It's great we don't have any BOX TOP S-197s.

Me either, but it seems to me they are making the true fastback design... even more fastback... it's already a fastback. They need to re-design the mustang if they are going to make the fastback more 1967-68 like.

the Iacocca Mustang wasn't a concept, they made a limited amount of them. I personally think it looks sick.

The fastback portion is was to dramatic. That body was never made to have a fastback look, hence the ugliness

I just want Ford to at least put a concept out..maybe some sketches and get some public reaction. Youd think one of the most celebrated mustangs ever would be at least reincarnated
