I found a bare 302 block, honed and completely cleaned for 50 bucks. Goin next saturday to pick it up. I don't have anything to put it in yet, but I figure by the time I get this built I should have something for it. Paul, your build thread better be back like it was, Im gonna need it.

Go get it man.

Don't trust someone's word on the quality of machinework either. Check EVERYTHING.

How do you suggest I check it? Do you mean with calipers and shit?

Yes. At the minimum, make sure you plastigage the mains and rods when you install them. Check crankshaft endplay. A basic magnetic-base dial indicator and a digital or analog dial caliper can be had for not too much money. Bad machinework can tank a project with the best of intentions real quick.

Ohh. I thought you meant before I buy it. I will do all of that of course before I start building.
