Pic shows a section of ground effect painter with VHT burnt copper from autozone and acrylic flat clear coat from walmart made by Krylon.
wonce dried a few days later, I to a rubing compond testing how the rattlle can clear will react. I rubbed this out 4x'
Well you have to buff after you clear so I suppose it could wait... It will speed up the polishing big time!I do not have one. I do have great neighbors that would most likely let me borrow one. Should I get it now before applying the clear?
The clear is just that... Clear! That being said, how close each panel matches depends on how even the color went on underneath it. After that its just a matter of getting the shine brought up completely on each panel. Buff well... but watch the edges...I like that idea!
I got the clear even with this pc. If I approach each body panel one at a time do yoh think the clear will be even? Or is it not as important? Can this clear process get really screwed up?
Yep!Watch edges because ill burn the clear off?
Yes. Absolutely. So, just for my own info, if I color sand and buff, do I have to sand again to get the clear to stick? What amount of grit does the clear need to grab?
Yes.I wet sanded the hood on the truck up to about 5k to get rid of the orange peel from spraying and buffed it, so then I should go back over it with 800 or 1000 to give it enough for the clear to grab
