Hey guys,

It's been awhile since i've posted, my computer was down for a while :(

I recently purchased 2- 17x8 chrome bullit rims, 2- 17x10.5's. I'm trying to decide what brand of tire i want to get. The ones they had on the site where i purchased the rims i've heard they're not that great (sumitomo's?). but anyways i'm going to be using the car for a weekend driver (summer toy) and maybe once in a while take it to the track. so my question is what brand of tire is good for the street and the occasional track use but doesn't wear down to fast?

weekend's and track huh?? i believe going with something more aggressive than regular street tire will do you good... i'd say go BGF or if you so choose, nittos... now, you wanna go extreme; get MT :coolsmiley:

sumitomos r not bad tires, i never had a problem with mine. in your situation, i recomend a NITTO extreme drag tire in a 315/35/17. great street tires, they last long and theyll work great in the track. theyll run u about $180 a piece but they r well worth it.

a great STREET tire/all around summer max performance tire is what is pictured above. that tire is actually the KDW 2 or the KDW NT (New Tread design).. KDW is the first series tire, just letting you know if you didn't already.

but i want KDW 2's for my car. i think those would be good tires for you. NITTO would also be a good tire.

I'm a big fan of the old 555 and 555R combe for a street car. Or some 555Rs on the back and some BFGs up front. Your car isn't making enough power to need anything to agressive.

Thanks alot for all your input
Hopefully next week I'll be buying rubber!!

This week I just ordered my BBK LT's. Just a few more parts to get before she's ready for the summer and then it's back to the drawing board for horse power for next winter's project...

thanks again

All I will use is BFGs. I tried for the KDW in the new tread! They did not come in 275/40-17, so I have the traditional tread! I love them, too!

Mine are called KDW TT, Iwanted KDW NT.

I've had kdw's. They're an awesome tire. But these Vredestein's are ALOT better. They go through the wet roads better, they grab the road better. It's actually quite a noticeable difference.
