trans fitment question

i have a 96 gt and was wondering if a 95 trans will fit on my car.. only reason i ask is my trans grinds and is going out and my buddy is pulling his motor/trans and doesnt need his anymore so if itll fit ill take it off his hands, but wanna make sure itll work on my car before i buy it from him

will it fit in the car yes. will it bolt right in no modifications, no.

what kind of modification are we talking? whats all needed?

the 96 is a 4.6 if it is a v8. if he has a v6 in it it will bolt right up.the t45 behind the 281 v8 won't work at all.the 95 uses the t 5 trans.
