Draw thru goes before the blower/ turbo in sort of a cold air intake, blow thru is in the chargepiping, and measures the full flow of the compressed air.. Draw thru is ok IMO but for low boost and low CFM firms of F.I... But for something that flows high CFM's and running larger boost levels it can measure more accurately what the engine is actually getting instead of measuring it off of a calculated graph by PPM of air.. Only bad thing about blow thru is trying to find a good maf that won't peg out under boost..

Yep^

A draw thru your MAF usually is in the fender and you run a "bypass valve" as your excess air is discharged back into the power pipe, not to the atmosphere

As a blow thru, the maf is housed in the discharge piping and your "blow off valve" is than discharging to the atmosphere

I always thought the opposite with pegging maf's as blow thru? It seems like guys are running the same blow thru setup I am and pushing over 700rwhp with still room to grow, add an extender and you can push stupid power.

Yeah I'm speaking of using an actual blow thru design most people just try to use a base lightning maf with an adapter and call it a blow thru, then wonder why it gets pegged once actual boost is introduced, in all cases i have noticed tuned draw thru cars need tuned (if) the maf is even ablevto be concerted to blow thru..I personally tried the c&l blow thru route before, and it was a bad idea lol tune was completely inop and never consistent ..

ohh gotcha.

Yeah, I'm expecting to need a new base tune due to the conversion, and then a separate meth tune as well.

you only need the mafia when it pegs initially. youll see on the dyno that these mafs will be in the 1khp range before it pegs.

Looks great mike, you wont be sorry!

HPX specs:
Tube SizeEst. HP range with HPX sensor
3"300-750RWHP
3.5"750-900RWHP
4"1000+RWHP
4.5"1000+RWHP

Thats what im running and think its the way to go when it comes to blow through

Just grab the 3 inch tube with the slot already welded in and incorporate it in your system. Its 300 bucks but might as well do it right the first time rather then messing around with different sensors and the extenders.

Thanks Justin. Yeah I'm happy I went with the housing, the conversion couldn't have gone any smoother, literally a plug and play and just some relocating
