I just installed the upr catted x pipe on my '97. The only real problem was getting the stock h-pipe off and out. If anyone wants to know:
Exhaust manifold flange nut is 18mm, the cat-back bolts are 13mm,and thread size on O2 sensor bung is 18m-1.5.
Job is made easier with atleast one 6" and two 3" extensions and a universal joint. Also, have both 18mm standard depth and 18mm deep well sockets, just in case.

Also I bought the catted X-pipe and it has yet to trip the MIL... I was expecting to make my own MIL elims, but not needed! I guess the single cats are enough for '97.

Also, wow this car picks up now, and improved both low-end and top-end performance.

Overall impressed with this purchase!

Is the UPR stainless or aluminized pipe? Can I ask how much you paid for it?

It is aluminized. I had to tap the threads on the O2 sensor bungs, but other than that it was a pretty easy install. It is $300 with the hi-flow cats. but sn95 has a discount through upr...

i put a upr catted x on my 03 mach 1. it has been on for a year and has not set any codes. You will be fine. I just put a bassani catted x that has super tiny cats compared to the upr catted x and that does not trip any codes either.

UPR is a pretty quality piece IMO. I got the catless x and turned off my rear 02's with an xcal2.
I paid like $105 shipped for mine on eBay brand new... Its pretty surprising how much money you can save sometimes...

I think the x pipe and the PI intake were the best 2 mods I did so far...
